Sargent, Nebraska, population 649, is a small community located in Custer County half mile north of the Middle Loup River in central Nebraska. With its scenic river front location at the foot of the Sandhills, Sargent is the Key to the Middle Loup Valley. Sargent lies just south of the Sandhills which sport abundant water, a large variety of wildlife, and beautiful scenery. This region is known for its outdoor activities, and several hunting lodges are located in the area. Sargent's economy is based primarily on agriculture with small levels of industry.
 The City of Sargent is a little town that is much like the river running next to it. Sometimes deep and flowing in abundance, sometimes shallow and flowing softly, but always flowing, rejuvenating itself and changing course when needed. No matter what their perspective, for 126 years every citizen of Sargent whether for a month or a lifetime has seen the exact same thing in this beautiful Middle Loup Valley... Home! City of Sargent...

City council meeting will be held at the Sargent Community Center on September 13th, 2010 @ 7pm. Anyone wishing to be placed on the agenda must complete this form and return it to the city office by 12 noon on Friday before the meeting date.
